My Giddy Aunt

A comedy by Ray Cooney and John Chapman
Directed by Nick Holmes
March 19 - 28 2010

My Giddy Aunt contains all the superb comedy that one would expect from the masters of farce plus a good measure of thrills. The play is set in India, where the aristocratic and eccentric Lady Eppingham lives in a fantasy world of the past glory of the Empire, whilst the running of her tea estate is left in the hands of her unscrupulous nephews. But when Beatrice Horrocks, Lady Eppingham's half-sister of decidedly low birth, arrives to claim her right to manage the estate, the situation changes dramatically. In a series of hilarious scenes she slowly but surely sorts out the estate, unmasks the schemes of her nephews and discovers some rather more sinister games at play.
