THE ERIN ARTS FOUNDATION

The Erin Arts Foundation is a volunteer organization dedicated to sponsoring live entertainment in the Town of Erin. The Foundation administers the Century Church Theatre, in partnership with the Hillsburgh Community Christian Church, the owners of the building.

The Foundation engages professional and internationally-recognized artists, provides a performance space and expertise for local performers, and subsidizes programs for children. Experienced practitioners provide hands-on education for volunteers wishing to learn about lighting, set construction, stage management, theatre management and operation, as well as performance skills.

The Foundation sponsors two theatre companies.

Century Church Theatre Company produces a Summer Festival Season of two plays in July and August as a member of ASTRO, the Association of Summer Theatre ‘Round Ontario. www.summertheatre.org

Century Theatre Guild is an amateur company, a member of ACT-CO, the Association of Community Theatre, Central Ontario.

The Foundation is a registered charity, and run entirely by volunteers. It is supported by donations, sponsorships and advertising. No theatre runs on ticket sales alone. Here are some ways you can support live entertainment, and help the Foundation continue to develop its programs:

  • volunteer to usher, and see shows free

  • help behind the scenes on a show

  • become a Gem, and make a donation in any amount

  • advertise your business in our programs and/or brochure

  • become a season or show sponsor, and appear on our print advertising
rent the theatre for your meeting, wedding, etc.

  • take advantage of our scheme to help you raise money for your own group or charity

  • arrange a private performance and reception for your business, clients, club or group

  • join the Century Theatre Guild, and experience theatre from the inside.

Supporting live theatre is prestigious and cost-effect way to promote your business. For more information, please call 519.855.4586, or email jophenix@sympatico.ca

ABOUT THE THEATRE

The Century Church Theatre is located in and shares the space with the Hillsburgh Community Christian Church. Built in 1906, the church provides an intimate and acoustically excellent venue for live performances, both plays and concerts.

The theatre is a work in progress. The trustees of the church, along with The Erin Arts Foundation, are continuing to upgrade the building, adding to its safety, comfort and convenience. As money is raised, the Foundation is adding the lighting, sound and other equipment to create a versatile space suitable not only for performances, but also for weddings, meetings, and children’s programs.

You can rent the theatre and/or Green Room for your event. For details, please call the Box Office at 519.855.4586.
