A traditional English pantomime by Jo Phenix with Doug MacDougall
Directed by Doug MacDougall
A Century Theatre Guild production
ACT-CO Festival Entry
Set in the middle ages, “Sleeping Beauty” is the latest in a series of traditional pantomimes from Century Theatre Guild in Hillsburgh. Chock full of twists and turns, music and laughter, our heroine Princess Briar Rose falls victim to the evil Poison Ivy and sleeps for a 100 years while a ragtag band of time travelling heroes try to break the curse in the nick of time. Throw in some familiar songs, cheesy puns, wild chases, some upbeat dance numbers and a fairy or two and you have the makings for great musical comedy! “Sleeping Beauty” also marks the creative and artistic return of Director Doug MacDougall who would love for friends, family and theatregoers to see this production! It runs November 17 – December 1 at the Century Church Theatre in Hillsburgh. A lively and hilarious new take on the legend in authentic panto style, this musical comedy has songs, dance, romance, laughter, and audience participation. Come out and be part of the action in “Sleeping Beauty” – cheering on our heroes and booing the villains – don’t forget – pantomime is suitable for all ages!!! The best value in family entertainment. For ages 3-103.
